I am Ryan McEathron, a music educator and performing musician based in Calgary, Alberta. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz and Contemporary Popular Music from MacEwan University, and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary’s Werklund School of Education. Upon graduation I was honoured with the Andrew L. Doucette Award, recognizing exceptional academic achievement and outstanding practicum performance.
Teaching Approach
My classroom teaching emphasizes clear structure, active engagement, and steady skill development. I work to build both musical ability and confidence through ensemble work and individual growth. I aim to create a supportive environment where all students can participate, succeed, and develop as musicians.
Private Drum Lessons
I teach students of all ages and experience levels, from beginners to advanced players. Lessons are tailored to each student's goals while developing strong fundamentals in technique, coordination, music theory, and timekeeping. My aim is to create a supportive, engaging environment where students build confidence, enjoy making music, and develop skills that last a lifetime.
